Terms of use
Last updated 16 October 2026
These are the rules for using CareBee, for parents and for caregivers.
What CareBee does
CareBee is an online platform that connects families with caregivers. A caregiver comes to the family's home, in the neighbourhoods CareBee serves, to look after children up to 14 years old. The neighbourhoods are listed on the homepage. Parents ask for a visit on this site. Caregivers apply here to take visits through CareBee.
CareBee checks every caregiver before they can take a visit, takes the booking and the payment for it, and steps in when something goes wrong. The care itself is given by the caregiver, who works independently and is not an employee of CareBee.
Your account
- Your mobile number is your account. You sign in with a code sent to it by text message. There is no password.
- Keep those codes to yourself. Anyone with your phone and a code can sign in as you.
- An account is either a parent's or a caregiver's. That is decided the first time a number signs in, and stays that way.
- Give your real name and correct details, and keep them up to date.
For parents
Asking for a visit
- Add only children you are the parent or legal guardian of.
- A visit can be booked for an address in a neighbourhood CareBee serves, for 2 to 10.5 hours, starting as soon as possible or at any time in the next 29 days. It has to start and end within the hours of the day CareBee works, which the booking form shows.
- One caregiver looks after up to 3 children in a visit.
- A visit costs the hourly price of that kind of care, times its hours. Where tax applies it is added to that. Both are shown before you book. Once you have booked, the price does not change, even if CareBee later changes its prices.
- You pay for a visit in full when you book it, on this site. The payment is taken by a payment company on CareBee's behalf, and the visit is booked once it has gone through. Pay only on this site: do not pay your caregiver in cash or in any other way.
- Tell the caregiver what they need to know. Write allergies, medicines and routines in your child's notes, and anything particular to the day in the instructions for the visit.
- Asking is not yet a booking. Your request is offered to approved caregivers who cover your area and offer that kind of care. If none of them takes it in time, the request ends and you are told. You can then ask again.
- You can ask for a particular caregiver from those suggested to you, such as one who has come before. Your request is offered to them first. If they do not take it within a few minutes it is offered to the others as well, so asking for someone is a preference and not a promise.
- The caregiver can change after one has accepted: they may have to pull out, or CareBee may send someone else. You are told each time.
- Your booking shows a start code once a caregiver is coming. Read it to the caregiver when they are at your door, and to nobody else. They cannot start the visit without it.
After the visit
- You are asked to rate the visit, from one to five stars. Give the rating you honestly think it deserves. You can add a few words for CareBee, or leave them out.
- A rating is given once and cannot be changed. Your caregiver sees the average of all their ratings, not what you said.
Changing a booking
- You can move a visit to another time, and make it shorter, up to 3 times, until your caregiver sets off. Made shorter, the difference in price goes back to you. Made longer, you pay the difference first, and the visit is moved once that payment has arrived. A visit a caregiver has accepted, with less notice than a free cancellation needs, can be made longer but not moved or made shorter.
- Your first change of time is free. Each change after it costs ₹20. What you pay to change the time is not given back if you cancel the visit, but it is if CareBee cancels it. A change CareBee makes for you is free.
- If a caregiver has accepted and is free at the new time, they keep the visit. If they are not, you are asked before anything changes, and if you go ahead the visit is offered to other caregivers.
- You can book the same visit on several days at once, up to 10 visits together. Each day is a booking of its own.
- A visit booked for a later day that no caregiver has taken shortly before it is due is ended then, and you are told, so that you have time to make other arrangements.
If something goes wrong
- While a caregiver is expected or with you, your booking has an emergency button. It alerts CareBee staff, who call you back. It does not call the police or an ambulance: if anyone is in danger, call 112.
- You can report anything that was not right about a visit, during it or for 7 days after. Reports go to CareBee staff. Report truthfully.
- If you want money back because a visit was not as it should have been, tell CareBee within 24 hours of the end of the visit. CareBee looks at each case, and may give back all or part of what you paid.
Cancelling, and getting money back
- You can cancel a booking yourself until your caregiver sets off. After that, call CareBee to call it off.
- All of what you paid goes back if you cancel before a caregiver has accepted, 4 hours or more before the visit starts, within 5 minutes of a caregiver accepting, or once the visit's time has come if your caregiver has not set off. With less notice, 50% of the visit's price is kept, and 100% once your caregiver is on the way or finds nobody at home. The booking tells you what would be kept, and why, before you cancel. Your booking keeps the rules in force on the day you booked it.
- All of it goes back if no caregiver takes your request in time, or if CareBee cancels the visit of its own accord. A visit CareBee cancels on your behalf, because you rang to cancel it or nobody was at home, counts as your own cancellation.
- Money goes back to where you paid from. The amounts, and how long it takes, are on the page about cancelling and refunds, which is part of these terms.
- Once a visit has started, only CareBee can stop it. To do that, contact CareBee.
- CareBee can cancel a booking too, and tells you when it does.
For caregivers
- To apply, fill in your details truthfully. CareBee then carries out its checks: an interview, your government ID, proof of your address, a background check, training and a skill assessment.
- You can take bookings only once CareBee has approved you. Whether to approve an application is CareBee's decision.
- CareBee can suspend a caregiver. While you are suspended you cannot take bookings, and visits you had not started are offered to other caregivers.
- You are shown a family's name, address and phone number, and their children's details, only for a booking you have taken. Use them for that visit and for nothing else, and do not pass them on.
- Mark where you really live on the map when you give your current address. It is how CareBee tells which visits are near you.
- To start a visit you enter the start code, which the parent reads to you at their door. Do not ask for it before you are there.
- While you are on the way to a visit and have its page open, the site asks to share your phone's location, so that CareBee knows where you are if you need help. The family is not shown it. You can refuse, and the visit goes ahead all the same. It stops when the visit starts.
- Finish each visit yourself when you leave. One left open for an hour past its end is finished for you, and CareBee staff are told.
- Your visit page has the same emergency button and the same way to report a problem as the family's. In danger, call 112 first.
- You can send CareBee a photo of your identity document and of a proof of address from your application. Send only your own, and only genuine ones.
- Parents rate each visit. Your average, and how many ratings it is made of, is shown to you and to the parents whose bookings you take. Do not ask a parent for a rating, or to change one.
- If you cannot make a visit you accepted, withdraw from it as early as you can, so that it can be offered to someone else.
- CareBee pays you for the visits you finish: your share of the price of each. It is owed to you as soon as the visit is finished, and is paid into the bank account or UPI ID you give under Earnings, once CareBee has checked that account. If a family cancels too late, what is kept of their payment is paid to you in the same way.
- Families pay CareBee for a visit, on this site. Do not take payment from a family yourself, in cash or in any other way, and do not arrange visits with a family outside CareBee.
Using the site fairly
- Do not give false details, use someone else's account, or try to reach information that is not yours.
- Do not use a program to send requests to the site. The number of requests from one IP address, and of OTPs sent to one number, is limited.
If these terms are broken
CareBee can close the account of anyone who breaks these terms. A closed account can no longer sign in.
Your details
What CareBee knows about you, and who else sees it, is set out in the privacy policy.
